While developing the website for their primary focus of asphault and paving services, we also developed a family brand for their Rental Properties. A logo, web page complete with an ecommerce approach of presenting the properties and information. No more tricky and timely updating through the third party supplier. The best part? I make a living helping other people and companies make a living from their dreams and goals. Whether it’s in service or retail or somewhere in between. Of course there are days I want to get my Nerf bat out and beat something up. I think everyone needs a Nerf bat.

I spent the past few days working with all members of the Winged Design team to put together some amazing projects and proposals. <3 my team! Today was spent working on finalizing an invitation for Northwest Ohio’s Foundation for Life’s upcoming charity benefit (see pic), some graphical edits on a website for a client from FL, sketching web designs for a Christmas Tree Farm project, and will finish the day with an evening chatting about a new project and dropping samples off for another.

But most importantly, provide accessible information for those with disabilities.

There are a lot of technology barriers for the disabled. Did you know that if you are a Federal agency you are by law required to have a Section 508 compliant site? Even with this 1998 amendment it has yet to become a truly enforced standard – leaving the disabled without fair access to information.

Private web sites not receiving federal funds do not need to comply to Section 508, however it is a good industry practice and a voluntary standard called W3C was created for the lack of enforcement.

NAMI Wood County’s website is both Section 508 and W3C Compliant. Additional features include newsletter integration, blog, social networking, and shopping cart.

No matter how large or small your business is… if you aren’t social networking, you are missing out. A lot of larger companies are forbidding social networking sites at work. And while I understand we don’t want personal relationships developing over Facebook on the company’s dime, these companies should instead teach their employees how to social network FOR them. Answering feedback on twitter, developing good trackbacks and links… After all, social networking is just on the brink of potential. It will be a fun ride watching it explode.

They have an incredible vacation home for DisneyWorld vacationers called Lucky Emerald located in Emerald Island. My team and I have been lucky enough to help them with their web presence complete with a flash slideshow and client maintained calendar integration. All of our clients are referred to us from word of mouth and with that, we often don’t get the chance to meet all of our clients face to face very often.

It was great to finally meet with you Tamara, and meeting your family. Ava is a doll!
